OS X Boot CD

Wie man eine Boot CD mit Dock für OS X erstellt!

Als erstes benötigt man natürlich das Programm "BootCD", einfach mit dem Symbol links laden. Als zweites muß man etwas Englisch verstehen.... 1. Launch BootCD. Type in the desired Volume Name and click the "Create Bootable CD image" button.
2. Give a name to the dmg file that BootCD will create and click to Save.
3. Next, choose which applications you would like included on the CD and put on the CD's Dock. You do this via a file browser window. Click Open to add a utility. Click Cancel when done. Disk Utility and Terminal are automatically included so you do not need to select them.
4. Quit BootCD and launch Disk Copy and select to Burn Image of the image file you created. [Note: Do not use the Finder to prepare the CD before using Disk Copy. Also do not use Toast ("Toast messes with the boot blocks and will usually result in a non-bootable CD"). However, we have one report from a reader who had success with Toast after being unable to get Disk Copy to work.]
5. Mount the newly created CD and select to Restart. Boot from the CD (by holding down the C key at startup).
6. When done starting up, you should be at the Finder. There will be a Dock that contains all the utilities you selected (plus Disk Utility and Terminal). Your startup drive volume/partitions will also be mounted. You have root user status at this point. BootCD has the root password set to "BootCD." [Note: This is the only instance we have seen of an OS X bootable CD that contains a Finder!]
7. With the full contents of your drive accessible, you can work, not only with the applications in the Dock, but with most applications on your drive - as the root user. For example, we could play Chess or create a document in TextEdit.
8. The Restart, Shut Down, or Log Out commands in the Apple menu do not work. To reboot again from your hard drive, use the command in Terminal. To make sure you do not reboot from the CD, hold down the Eject button on your keyboard at startup until the CD ejects.
Das war es schon...
