In den letzten Tagen äußerten einige Entwickler im iPhone-Entwickler-Programms, die sich schon kurz nach Start dessen registriert haben, Unmut darüber, dass es bis vor wenigen Stunden nicht möglich war, die Mitgliedschaft über das erste Jahr hinaus zu verlängern. Dies führte dazu, dass angebotene Programme nicht mehr zum Kaufen angeboten wurden.
Nun hat Apple die Entwickler angeschrieben,
dass der ursprüngliche Vertrag automatisch bis zum 11. Juli 2009 verlängert wird. Ab Mai hat jeder eingetragene iPhone-Entwickler die Möglichkeit, den Vertrag wieder um ein volles Jahr zu verlängern. Hier der Text der Email:
It has been almost a year since you enrolled in the iPhone Developer Program and helped to make the App Store a phenomenal success.
In appreciation of your participation in the program during the beta period, the length of your original program term and your iTunes Connect contract(s) will be extended to
July 11, 2009—one year from the opening of the App Store. We will contact you soon with more details and instructions about this extension.
Beginning in May, a full 60 days prior to your new Program expiration date, you will be able to renew your iPhone Developer Program which also automatically renews your existing iTunes contracts.
