ich hab versucht die ordner in "programme" zu loeschen, aber das reicht anscheinend nicht. es werden beim systemstart immer noch einige sachen geladen.

wie entferne ich die norton utilities vollstaendig??

Auf der Norton CD ist in weiser Voraussicht ein Programm namens "Deinstallieren Symantec" alternativ würde ich die Festplatte formatieren und das System neu installieren

Formatieren ist immer die beste lösung aber wegen ein programm. Ist das nicht ein bischen zu viel.

Selbst der symantec uninstaller löscht nicht restlos.
Norton gehört überall hin aber *nicht* auf ein OS X.
Das Zeug ist die Pest und richtet unter Umständen mehr Schaden an als es nützt.
Vom verhalten her sind die Norton Utilities eine ernsthafte Bedrohung für OS X und erfüllen schon fast die definition eines Virus.

Robert Schumann*ähem ... Programme die in feinem sauberen package Format daher kommen und alle binaries und elemte im Packet enthalten löscht man unter OS X komplett mit einem einfachen drag & drop in den Papierkorb. Ohne deinstallationsroutine.
ich weiß nicht was Windows in irgendeiner Form da noch besser und einfacher macht.

Nicht ganz, leider. Programme, die Plugins, CMMs oder andere Bestandteile mitbringen, die nicht im Bundle liegen (können), lassen sich rückstandsfrei so nicht entfernen.

Es gibt wahrscheinlich ein Logfile der Nortoninstallation. In dem wird stehen, was wo gelandet ist. Das Programm "Console" zeigt die meisten Logfiles an. Möglicherweise legt Norton auch eine eigene Log-Textdatei an. Typischerweise heißt sie dann install.log oder so.

Den Norton Utilities liegt ein Programm bei, das "NortonUninstall" heißt. Damit bekommt man es weg. Außerdem gibt es eine Anleitung, wie man die NU händisch entfernt. Beides zu finden hier:

The uninstaller for Norton Utilities for Macintosh (NUM) 7.x will remove all of the program files specific to Norton Utilities. However, some Symantec shared components are not removed by the uninstaller. To remove Symantec shared components, see the document How to manually uninstall LiveUpdate and Norton Scheduler in Mac OS X.

To manually remove NUM 7.x, boot from your Norton Utilities CD, System Software CD or a separate volume. Once booted from the Norton Utilities CD, System Software CD, or from a separate volume, do the following:

Rather than booting from a CD or another volume, you can log in to your computer with root access to remove Norton Utilities.

Double-click Applications, then remove this file:

Close the Norton Help Scripts, Help and Documentation windows.
Double-click Preferences, and remove the folder:

Double-click StartupItems, and remove these folders:

VolumeAssist

Close the StartupItems and Library windows.
Double-click System (the folder named "System", and not the folder named "System Folder"), then Library, then Extensions, and remove these files:

DeleteTrap
symfs
SymOSXKernelUtilities.kext
SymDC.kext (If NUM 7.0.1 or later is installed.)

Close all open windows, and empty the trash.

Norton Utilities is now completely removed. Shared components of Norton software are still on your computer.
