Hi Leute!
Hat jemand ne Idee, wie ich auf meinem englischen MacBook bei der Tastenkombi alt plus o ein ö hinzaubern kann statt dem ø? Gibt es ne software, die die Belegung der Tasten verändert kann?
Dasselbe natürlich auch für alt plus a = å (soll ein ä geben) und alt und u = ¨(soll dementsprechend ein ü produzieren. Bin es leid alt plus u und dann a, u bzw. o zu drücken.
Bin für jeden Tip dankbar!

naja, stell doch ersatzweise auf deutsch, dann hast du intern ein deutsches tastaturlayout, egal was auf den tasten ist,
man kann wohl immer noch in systemeinstellungen, Tastatur&Maus, Tastaturkurzbefehle, ersatzweise zuweweisen.
Und die Zeichenpalette im Tastaturmenue gibt es auch noch unter leo,

hoffe das hilft erst mal.

Hilft mir leider nicht, da dann auch alle Sondertasten verändert würden.
Tastaturkurzbefehle:
Eigentlich ist ein ø ja kein Shortcut, oder? Vielleicht bin ich auch nur zu blöd, das richtig zu programmieren. Kann einer helfen?
Zeichenpalette:
Jups, gibt es. Ich meine, ich krieg ja ein ö hin, wollte jedoch eine elegantere Möglichkeit finden.
Zusammenfassend: Dank für Deine Tips, aber ich such eigentlich eher eine dauerhafte Lösung, die Tastaturbelegung für ø ¨å zu verändern.
Irgendwer ne andere Idee, wie man das bewerkstelligen könnte?

Du kannst dir mit Ukelele ein eigenes Keyboard Layout anlegen, das du dann über das Keyboard Menü auswählen kannst.

obergeil, nutze ich auch seit einem halben jahr mit meiner u.s. tastatur auf meinem mbp!

beschreibung:

If you are using Mac OS X with a US keyboard layout, but need to type lots of German text, then download the file USGerman Keyboard Layout 0.98.zip (28 KB), unzip it, and put the file Roman.bundle into the following folder:

(your home folder)/Library/Keyboard Layouts

You may have to create this folder if it doesn't exist already.

Now close all open applications (running applications will not recognize the new keyboard layout and, under Leopard, may not respond to keyboard input with the new layout selected until you closed and relaunched them).

Launch System Preferences under the Apple menu (close it first if it was open already), go to the "International" Preferences pane, and select the "Input Menu" tab.

Check the "U.S. With Umlauts via Option Key" Keyboard layout, and uncheck the U.S. one if possible. Also check the "Show input menu in menu bar" option at the bottom.

Log out and back in once after first installing it to make it work in all applications (including Spotlight, the Finder, etc.).

After logging back in, in your menu bar, select the US/German flag from the new flag menu.

Now you can use the following keyboard shortcuts for German special characters:

option-a for ä
option-o for ö
option-u for ü
option-s for ß

This also works as expected for uppercase umlauts (Shift-option-A, Shift-option-O, Shift-option-U), and with Caps Lock enabled. Shift-option-S or Caps-option-S will create "SS", in accordance with typographical standards.

The Option key is also labeled "alt" on most keyboards.

die englische und U.S. tastastur sollten ja a, o, u und s an der gleichen stelle haben!

ä, ö, ü, ß. Ä, Ö, Ü, SS. klein und gross...

einfacher geht es im altag nicht! und man hat die praktische U.S. tastatur und muss sich nicht einen abbrechen mit sonderzeichen und so... Y und Z sind auch nicht vertauscht...!

Das ist es, was ich gesucht hab. Spitze!
Eine Frage noch:
Hab ja ne engl Tastatur. Das sollte doch keine Problem machen, oder? Es werden ja nur:
Alt-o, Alt-Shift-o und Capslock-o
Alt-u, Alt-Shift-u und Capslock-u
Alt-a, Alt-Shift-a und Capslock-a
geaendert, oder?
das "ß' z.B. erschient bei UK Tastatur, wenn Du alt-s drueckst. Das soll dann auch so bleiben.
