Eine schöne Methode, klassische Spiele unter MacOS X zu spielen ist Boxer

Boxer basiert auf DOSBox und ist dafür gedacht, MS-DOS-Spiele auf dem Mac zu spielen. Es gibt sehr viele Umsetzungen von Amiga- und C64-Spielen für MS-DOS. Man kann Boxer-Spielepakete manuell einrichten oder ein Install-Tool verwenden. Die Konfiguration der Spiele ist allerdings nach wie vor eine Freude, vor allem die Soundkonfiguration von tausend Soundblaster-Versionen, Gravis Ultrasound oder diversen Midi-Karten. Mit ein wenig Übung bekommt man das dann aber schnell hin, und wenn das Package fertig ist, kann man es ganz einfach per Doppelklick starten. Da die meisten MS-DOS-Spiele heute Freeware oder Abandonware sind, kann man sich so eine schöne Spielebibliothek auf seinem Mac einrichten. Wenn man dann genügend Zeit hat kann man sich das sehr schön gestalten.

Turrican II ist so hmhm naja - Es ist genauso gut spielbar wie die Amiga-Version, auch der Sound ist 1:1 - aber die Grafiken sind völlig neu gestaltet (in 256 Farben) und sehen etwas merkwürdig aus. Die Endgegner der Shooter-Level sind grottenschlecht, die besten findet man in der C64-Version.

Danke für den Tipp! Werde ich testen… Jedes mal DOSBox starten, Laufwerksbuchstaben zuweisen, zum Pfad hangeln, Spiel starten kann schon lästig werden!

Ich möchte behaupten, dass es Motorensound- und vor allem Dashboardgrafiktechnisch kein bessere NFS gibt!

Suche ja nach wie noch einen vernünftigen VooDoo 1 Software-Emulator um endlich mal wieder NFSIISE spielen zu können! Könnte eigentlich auch einen entsprechenden Rechner aufbauen, aber ich glaube meine Matrox hat sich damals verabschiedet und ob die VooDoo heute noch tut

NFS II benötigt doch schon Windows, das geht auf Dosbox/Boxer nicht mehr.

Man kann unter DOSBox eine Konfigurationsdatei anlegen lassen.

config -writeconf dosbox.conf

Dieser Befehl ist zwar eigentlich ein Linux-Befehl funktioniert aber auch unter Mac OS X.

Diese Datei wird im DOSBox Ordner abgelegt und man kann diese dann bequem mit TextEdit bearbeiten.

Dies hier ist meine:

Wie man sieht, man hat viele Möglichkeiten.

HINWEIS: Den Sound kann man verbessern indem man die Gravis UltraSound Unterstützung aktiviert und unter DOSBox die Original DOS Treiber installiert.
Diese muß man sich aber erst einmal herunterladen.

Meine Güte welch ein Umstand Ich lege meine Boxer-Packages auch meist manuell an, obwohl es gar nicht nötig wäre... Aber solche Einstellungs-Orgien braucht man da nicht. Ich stelle höchstens die CPU-Geschwindigkeit mal auf einen anderen Wert.

Wer's noch einfacher haben will, ich habe ja bereits 2 GB an vorbereiteten Games auf Mediafire, ich weiß nur nicht ob ich den Link hier reinsetzen kann...

Das Problem an der Sache ist die, daß gewisse Einstellungen mit bestimmten Computern nicht richtig zusammenarbeitet.

Wenn ich die Konfiguration von DOSBox von meinem MBP auf dem iMac verwende, kann ich dort angenehmes Spielen vergessen. Da könnte ich dann dort eher Excel 2.0 ausführen....

Ich weis nicht wie Ihr das mit Turrican2-PC hinbekommen habt; bei mir will das Game einfach nicht laufen.
Hätte jemand zufällig eine Boxer-Version für mich.
