Mit viel Selbstironie erweitert der britische Hersteller Chord Company sein Angebot um dieses bahnbrechende HiFi-Rack.

Hier die Original-Beschreibung aus der Pressemeldung:

1 April 2026, Wiltshire, England: Chord Company, the UK’s leading manufacturer of high-performance cables, is proud to announce its first equipment isolation device in 40 years: the ChordStone Lithic support range.
Moving away from traditional steel, wood or even ghastly 2000’s glass, Chord Company has returned to its Wiltshire roots, quite literally, to develop a ‘groundbreaking’ hi-fi rack hewn from genuine Neolithic Sarsen and Blue Stone. Sourced via a private geological consultant*, these limited-edition racks offer a level of mechanical isolation previously only available to Bronze Age vinyl and streaming enthusiasts.

Rocky road
"We’ve spent decades perfecting thin, lightweight materials like XLPE and Taylon insulations and even our fine silver-plating," said a Chord Company spokesperson, "But we realised the ultimate audio material was actually four tons of prehistoric stone. The ChordStone Lithic support doesn’t just support your hi-fi equipment; it anchors it to the very tectonic plate of your continent."

Two distinct finishes
Audiophiles can choose from two bespoke finishes to match their listening room aesthetics:
The ‘Neo-Chiselled’ edition: Clean, sharp lines hand-carved by a local stonemason using authentic flint tools. The masonry techniques contribute to a bright, punchy soundstage, ideal for modern electronic music.
The ‘Authentically Weathered’ Heritage series: For the vintage enthusiast, these slabs are delivered exactly as found in the Wiltshire countryside. This edition features Organic Druidic Damping, a proprietary blend of damp moss, centuries-old lichen and genuine Wiltshire sheep droppings. This natural layer provides a ‘warm, earthy’ mid-range that digital systems often lack.

Spiritual shielding
In a first for the hi-fi industry, each rack is hand-etched with custom Druidic Runes. These aren’t merely decorative; they act as a ‘spiritual Faraday cage’, protecting sensitive components from both RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) and ancient Celtic curses.

Availability and installation
Due to the extreme weight of the materials (approx. 1.2 tonnes), the ChordStone Lithic support does not require floor spikes. It will, however, require a structural survey of the home and a heavy-lift crane or Chinook for delivery; dealers are standing by to help.

The ChordStone Lithic support range is available for pre-order from 1 April. Prices start at £5,000: exactly one pound for every year since the stones were first dragged from the Preseli Hills in Wales.
