Möglicherweise Sammelklage wegen defekter Grafikchips des 2011er MacBook Pro

Mehr als 10.000 Nutzer wenden sich in einer Petition an Apple, um endlich anzuerkennen, dass die massenhaften Grafikdefekte beim MacBook Pro 2011 auf einen Serienfehler zurückgehen und nicht nur Einzelfälle sind. Einer der Threads in den Apple Discussions weist inzwischen ebenfalls knapp 8000 Beschwerden auf. Apple schweigt beharrlich zu den Defekten, obwohl es bereits seit Monaten immer mehr betroffene Nutzer gibt und schon im Januar klar wurde, dass auffällig viele Besitzer des MacBook Pro 15" und 17" Defekte verzeichnen mussten. Da der Grafikchip mit dem Logic Board verlötet ist, stellt die Reparatur eine aufwändige und teure Maßnahme dar.


Apples Schweigen führte jetzt dazu, dass eine Sammelklage geprüft wird. Eine Kanzlei führt deswegen eine Untersuchung durch, um zu erkennen, inwiefern rechtliche Ansprüche gegen Apple bestehen. Whitfield Bryson & Mason LLP war schon an anderen großen Sammelklagen beteiligt, unter anderem bei Hardware-Problemen auch oder auch bei einem Verfahren gegen Google wegen Verletzung von Datenschutz.

Dass eine Sammelklage eingereicht wird, ist zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt noch nicht sicher. Angesichts des weit verbreiteten Problems, das inzwischen auf vielen Seiten und Foren diskutiert wird, steht Apple aber unter Druck. Möglicherweise führt daher schon die Androhung einer Sammelklage dazu, dass Apple die Angelegenheit nicht nur intern prüft, sondern erstmals auch Stellung nimmt. Naja, Notebook-Platinen mit SMD und GPU auf dem MLB verlötet gibt es seit min. 15 Jahren. Das ist hier nicht das Problem.

Naja, Notebook-Platinen mit SMD und GPU auf dem MLB verlötet gibt es seit min. 15 Jahren. Das ist hier nicht das Problem.
Das Verlöten ist nicht das Problem, eher dass die Kühllösung von den Macbooks eher schlecht als recht funktioniert. Würden die Temperaturen niedriger gehalten, käme es auch weniger zu den genannten Problemen.
Muss nicht mal sein, das AMD daran Mitschuld hat. Die werden kaum für die Massenfertigung verantwortlich sein, ich tippe da eher auf einen Materialfehler während der Produktion, AMD liefert ja nur die Chips.

Die Frage ist, wie läuft das dann ab? Mein MBP läuft auch noch super, sollte man es bei einer möglichen Reparatur trotzdem abgeben? Ich habe außerdem mein DVD-Laufwerk rausgeschmissen und jetzt mit Optibay eine SSD und HDD im Book, tauscht Apple im Fall trotzdem um?

Mich wundert das hier noch nichts passiert ist. Sonst reagiert Apple da schnell und bietet kostenlose Austauschprogramme an, auch für Geräte ausherhalb der Garantie. So war es mit meinem 2010 Macbook Pro mit den defekten Logicboards. Das konnte man einfach im Apple Store vorbei bringen und am nächsten Tag abholen.

Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht was das mit 'immer dünner' zu tun hat. Defekte solcher Art gab es auch schon bei den ganz dicken alten Geräten sowie bei jedem sonstigen Laptop anderer Hersteller. Egal wie klobig die waren.

Es ist schon traurig das man Apple immer erst mit einer Sammelklage drohen muss. Ich wäre ganz schön angepisst wenn mir so ein teures MacBook innerhalb der ersten Jahre deswegen kaputt geht. Das 2011 Modell kommt bei mir jetzt auf die schwarze Liste der Gebraucht MacBooks. Ich kaufe nur gebraucht wg den hohen Preisen.

Ja, dass stimmt. Nur muss denn, v.a. bei der heutigen Leistungsfähigkeit, die Technik immer bis an die Schmerz-/Defektgrenze getrieben/gequetscht werden. Zwei drei Millimeter mehr für die Abluft würden heutzutage wahrscheinlich reichen - dafür eben lieber die Pro-Books zuverlässiger (oder gar flexibler und Servicefreundlicher). Für Hypermobile und Vielflieger git's ja noch die MBAs.

Klar gab es die. Hatte ich mal bei einem Dell Laptop. Der Unterschied ist das am nächsten Tag ein Techniker da war die Graka ausgetauscht hat und ich nichts bezahlt habe. War ein Herstellungsfehler ausserhalb der Garantiezeit.

Schade das es keine Sammelklagen in DE gibt. An sich ist es eine Frechheit und auch ein NoGo das Apple, die sonst häufig Kulanten und schnellen Service bieten (Das Reseller wie z.B. Alternate/Wave das nicht hinbekommt ist etwas anderes), hier so mauern. Nötig hätten Sie es nicht.

Der Tausch eines Lüfters am 7300 hat eine Woche gedauert, da angeblich das Teli nicht lieferbar war. Der Mehrwert der Plastekisten von Dell erschliesst sich mir nicht (mehr).

Hier Geschichte über MacBook Pro 15" Serie 2011, gekauft 3/2012 umschalten der Grafikkarte ging nur ab und zu, ASD-Test gemacht da tauchten schon die ersten Fehler auf. Store Rosenstraße LogicBoard tauschen lassen, ging wieder drei Monate, gleiche Fehler wieder, neuer Austausch. Bis 8/2014 war es möglich zu arbeiten, danach Trackpad Störung und Gerät hatte keinen festen Stand, Batterie geplatzt, Austausch von Batterie, Trackpad und LogicBoard. Gerät abgeholt am 34" LG 34UM95P angeschlossen Grafik kein Signal über Thunderbolt über HDMI Bild. ASD-Test laufen lassen Video Controller extern, USB Port, Photometer Fehler, hier Ergebnis.
