Hallo allerseits,
wünsche frohe Weihnachten gehabt zu haben

Ich wollte heute eine DVD mit VLC ansehen (VLC, weil ich ein paar Screenshots vom Film machen möchte, das geht ja mit DVD nicht), ich habe die neueste Version geladen, dann habe ich die DVD in das VLC-Fenster gezogen und jetzt rödelt das Programm schon 15 Min rum und der Film startet nicht?
So ist das nicht zu gebrauchen

Achja:
iMac 27" i5 12 GB Speicher, sollte also schnell genug sein

Bei mir geht’s sofort. Vielleicht kannst du noch den Weg über »Ablage › Medium öffnen« versuchen oder testen, ob die DVD überhaupt mit dem normalen DVD player läuft.

Zumindest vor Mountain-Lion konnte man mit SnapX Pro auch Screenshots des DVD-Players machen, mit der neuen Version 2.5 geht das nicht mehr.

Mit DVD startet die DVD sofort, ohne Verzögerung

Ja SnapzXPro habe ich auch, aber wie Du schon geschrieben hast, damit geht es nicht mehr gibt es irgendwo eine ältere Version zu laden?

habe ich ausprobiert, aber es funktioniert nicht
ne ältere Version von Snapz X würde evtl. helfen aber ich finde nur die neue

Die letzte Version vor 2.5, die ich bei mir finden konnte, kannst du hier herunterladen (upload von mir, ist das ganz normale DMG von Ambrosia): SnapzPro 2.3.3

Ob die aber in Lion oder Mountain-Lion problemlos läuft, habe ich nicht getestet.

Bezüglich VLC würde ich mal versuchen, die Preferences zu löschen. Eigentlich sollte der funktionieren.

Als Alternative:

Öffne die .VOB Datei mit QuickTime Player und mach den 4 shot

ich habe auf einem alten Rechner noch eine 2.2.1 Version Snapz gefunden, mit dem geht es aber immer nur ein Bild dann stürzt das Programm ab

Wenn der blöde VLC-player ordentlich laufen würde, dann wäre es einfach, das ist ja das Hauptproblem

Geh mal im Finder auf die DVD und zieh den VIDEO_TS Ordner auf das VLC Programm im Dock.

Hab ich gemacht... es dauert jetzt schon wieder fast 5 Minuten, das ist nicht normal. Ich habe schon alles was VLC war gelöscht, hoffe ich... aber das bringt keine Besserung

Kann man hier noch was einstellen?

Ich würde mal testhalber die DVD rippen (Mac DVD Ripper Pro oder RipIt rippen einige Scheiben in der Testphase kostenlos). Vermutlich hängt sich VLC am speziellen Kopierschutz der Scheibe auf.

So, ich habe jetzt mal eine andere DVD (Transformers) versucht mit VLC zu starten, aber das dauert genau so lange wie die erste (Stargate)
Verstehe ich nicht

Da es mit dem DVD Player sofort geht, liegt es wohl nicht am Laufwerk oder an der DVD.
Sind irgendwelche Plugins installiert?
Was sagt das Log? - Konsole
Da oben im Debug keine timecodes sind kann man auch nicht sagen ob es irgendwo hängt.
Versuch mal alle Daten von Vic zu löschen, ggf. Plugins usw.
/System/Libary und /Libary mal durchschauen.
Probehalber auch mal einen neuen Benutzer anlegen und dort schauen was passiert. Da ist die Benutzer/Libary sauber ..
